Full Moon and that Time of the Month

Like most males I am blisfully unaware of the pain and suffering my partner goes through once a month with 'The Period' However is it just me or is it the case that this happens during a full moon. Is it the case that millions of women in whole geograhic regions are all experiencing this at the same time.

If this is true it has far reaching consequences. Two days before a full moon I would suggest thinking very carefully about what you might say to your partner, your female co-worker or any other female in the vicinity. What we are talking about here is a seething cauldron of trouble just waiting to pour on the unprepared male.

If my full moon theory is true, you would need to get in your car and drive for approximately 36 hours before you could approach a female with an innocent question like 'you look a bit off colour today, do you feel OK?". I'm learning slowly as time passes that the female of the species is a wierd and wondeful beast, who on certain days will light up your life and on other days will take on the personality of an angry bear.

I know which one I prefer. So, my suggestion for the few days before and after a full moon take the following precautions:

1. Do not ask where your socks are located. This applies to all other low level stuff that you should be able to remember, but expect your partner to be the font of all knowledge.

2. Buy some flowers and give them the day before the full moon. This may be treated with suspicion but eventually it will smooth things over.

3. Cook the dinner, wash up, put the kids to bed and then offer a back rub. Plus give a back rub that lasts longer than 1 minute.

4. Arrange a babysitter, book a table at her favourite organic restaurant. Don't eye up the waitress !

5. Think before you speak, don't hang around looking sheapish and finally and most importantly do not watch a football match on TV on the night of the full moon. MNF is out in this situation

Live long and prosper !

Casey Anthony Media Speculation

Further speculation continues in the case of missing toddler Caylee Anthony.

CNN reports that traces of chloroform were discovered in the Casey Anthony's car along with evidence that she had visited chloroform related web sites, they found traces of human decomposition in the trunk and a strand of Caylee's hair. Its no suprise a hair could be found but the other circumstantial evidence finds could look ominous.

'Expert' Crime writer David Lohr reveals that as of 15th Sept Casee Anthony remains under arrest, but on charges not in relation to Caylee's disappearance. At the same time neighbour's of Anthony continue to demonstrate against the Anthony family.

What happenned to trial by jury and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Dr Phil echos the above sentiment.

While all this speculation continues Caylee Anthony remains missing.

Massive US Rescue Plan

The Treasury Department is being given sweeping powers over the next couple of years as part of a package of measures to purchase 700 Billion dollars worth of Toxic debt. The 'Buck Stops Here' sign moved from the desk of the banking system that created the problem to the ever reliable taxpayer. The public debt limit has been increased from 10.6 trillion dollars to 11.3 trillion dollars. I wonder if the leaders of the financial behemoths that have been humbled in recent days will be handing back the multi million dollar bonuses they received in the last few years while creating the problem ?, perhaps not I think. Tagged as a humiliation of Wall st it should lead to a root and branch reform of the financial system. Lets hope this draws a line under the shocking events of recent days. This looks like a last ditch attempt to steady the boat. If new and yet undisclosed financial mis-deeds come to light it's likely that the kids will find the cookie jar is now empty.

Tina Fey

Tina Fey is not related to Sarah Palin, however at the 2008 Emmy Awards, she scooped a hat-trick of awards, namely Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (30 Rock and Cooter), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (30 Rock), Executive Producer of an Outstanding Comedy Series 30 Rock. Fey is a rare combination of talent, beauty and wit. Despite losing her purse during the awards ceremony she still managed to accept the plaudits with class and humility.

New National TV Ad Calls for Hot Dog Ban in Schools

New National TV Ad Calls for Hot Dog Ban in Schools
WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Schools should stopserving hot dogs and other processed meats because even small amounts increase the risk of adult cancer, says a provocative new commercial airing on TV stations around the country. The spot is produced by the CancerProject, an affiliate of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

iSearch

The latest in a long line of search engines enters the market with claims that it will offer 'better results than plain old google'. iSearch, created by the smart people from Intelius aims to help you unearth new previously inaccessible details about the target name. Is this further evidence of a Big Brother society encroaching on civil liberties, a dream tool for nosey parkers, or a useful gadget for hard pressed human resource staffers attempting to sift out the wheat from the chaff. Whatever happens with iSearch, it turns out that George Orwell provided a prophetic vision into the future.

End of Capitalism as we know it?

Following on the recent demise of financial powerhouses the like of Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, Northern Rock and Merrill Lynch, the question has to be asked how many more financial institutions are on the precipice. Once we know this, is the cookie jar of multi-billion dollar bail out funds made available by the Federal Reserve and other Central banks nearly empty? Every week we hear of hundreds of billions of dollars being pumped into the financial markets which seems to calm frayed nerves for a while, then another tumbling collossus emerges. The last question is how will all of this affect Joe Public? The immediate effects are tumbling property prices around the world as the criteria for obtaining a mortgage are now tightened up. Pension funds have been hammered by stock market correction after correction. The long term effects are yet to emerge but my guess is that its not going to be pretty. Any activity which requires credit is going to get expensive. This is going to effect your plans to buy that new car, your employers plan to invest in new equipment, your governments plans to operate a trade deficit to get out of economic recession. Unbridled capitalism, or what some call greed has led to this situation and no doubt new rules and regulations about how Capitalism works in the future will be introduced. Lets hope we get some inspired leadership to help as all weather this storm.

Damon criticises Palin

Hollywood hunk Matt Damon tears into Sarah Palin today. Citing her lack of experience and religious fervour Is Palin a disaster waiting to happen.? She is even outshining McCain right now. She's photogenic and holds strong views which seems to be going down well with middle America. You' could be forgiven for thinking that Palin is the Presidential candidate and McCain the Vice-Presidential candidate. On a similar note, the people of London, England elected an unlikely Colonel Blimp type character to be Mayor of London but he seems to be making a good fist of it. A Penny for the thoughts of Vladimir Putin.

MTV VMA

The shock winner of the MTV Best Female Video was Britney Spears raunchy performance in 'Piece of Me' . Some described it as a jaw dropping event. There had been rumours that Britney would not be doing MTV VMA this year, but they turned out to be false. Maybe Britney has put her troubles behind her. Lets hope so.

Caylee Anthony

Yet another toddler disappearance, this time Caylee Anthony. Fox News enlightens us with the "Grandmother of Missing Caylee Anthony Disputes Decomposition Claims" whilst the ABC News presents a comprehensive report entitled "Our Hearts are Breaking": New Photos Caylee Anthony. She gives The American Public an historic choice between the first black President or the first female Vice President. Some obervers have commented that the debate between Palin and the Democratic Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden will draw more TV viewers than the Obama-McCain TV debates combined.
